Thanks for planting your seed! This simple activity is a fun way to watch something small grow into something strong. Here’s everything you need to know to help your plant thrive!

🌿 What You’ll Need

A small cup or pot (12–16 oz works great)
Loose soil or potting mix
Water
A sunny window

🌱 Step-by-Step Planting Instructions

1️⃣ Fill Your Cup

Fill your cup almost to the top with soil.

2️⃣ Plant the Seed

Push the seed about 1 inch deep into the soil. Cover it gently.

3️⃣ Water Lightly

Water until the soil is damp — not soaking. The soil should feel like a wrung-out sponge.

4️⃣ Find a Sunny Spot

Place your cup in the brightest window in your home. South-facing windows are best, but any bright window works.

👀 What to Expect

Sprouts usually appear in 3–5 days
The seed will split open first
A small stem will push upward
Leaves will unfold within a few days

💧 How to Care for Your Plant

Keep the soil slightly moist
Do not let it sit in standing water
If the soil feels dry on top, add a little water
Turn the cup every few days so it grows straight

🌤️ After 2–3 Weeks

Your plant may be ready for:

A bigger pot
Planting outside (after frost season)
Or simply enjoying as a growing reminder

If planting outdoors:

Choose a sunny location
Space plants about 6 inches apart
